Defense is a 3D printed defensive wearable. It was created in response to the feeling of fear when walking alone at night. The 3D printed forms are inspired by fangs, thorns, talons, and a desire for a natural defense mechanism like those found in nature. The work is modular and can be easily be taken apart. This wearable defense necklace is meant to be used in case of physical assault. The talons can be removed from either end of the collar for defense against an attacker. It is meant to be sharp, brittle and able to break off upon impact. This piece is not meant to be a weapon but a preventative wearable that can be used in case of emergencies.
